‘Still The Enemy Within’ Film screening and discussion
University of Huddersfield History Society
Wednesday, 18 March 2015 from 18:00 to 21:00 (GMT)
Huddersfield, United Kingdom
Come along to an evening of discussion and cinema to commemorate the solidarity of the miners upon their return to work thirty years ago. The Miners’ Strike 1984/85 represents arguably the most important strike in the history of the Labour Movement. Still within living memory for many families, the strike’s legacy is visible throughout every former coalfield in the country. March 2015 represents the end of yearlong commemorations remembering the Miners’ Strike 1984/85 and all that it stood for. This unique opportunity to discuss the strike and view ‘Still the Enemy Within’ is not to be missed.
